Rabbi Reveals = Name of the=20 Messiah
Shortly before = he died,=20 one of Israel's most prominent rabbis wrote the name = of the=20 Messiah on a small note which he requested would = remain sealed=20 until now. The initials spell the Hebrew name of Jesus, = Yehoshua.=20 Yehoshua and Yeshua are e=1Eectively the same name, = derived from=20 the same Hebrew root of the word = =E2=80=9Csalvation=E2=80=9D as documented in=20 Zechariah 6:11 and Ezra 3:2. =1FThe same priest writes = in Ezra,=20 =E2=80=9CYeshua son of Yozadak=E2=80=9D while writing = in Zechariah =E2=80=9CYehoshua=20 son of Yohozadak.=E2=80=9D =1FThe priest adds the holy = abbreviation of=20 God=E2=80=99s name, ho, in the father=E2=80=99s name = Yozadak and in the name=20 Yeshua.=20

With one of Israel=E2=80=99s most prominent rabbis = indicating the=20 name of the Messiah is Yeshua, it is understandable = why his=20 last wish was to wait one year after his death before=20 revealing what he wrote.=20

When the name of Yehoshua appeared in = Kaduri=E2=80=99s message,=20 ultra-Orthodox Jews from his Nahalat Yitzhak Yeshiva=20 (seminary) in Jerusalem argued that their master did = not leave=20 the exact solution for decoding the Messiah=E2=80=99s = name.=20

The revelation received scant coverage in the = Israeli=20 media. Only the Hebrew websites News First Class (Nfc) = and=20 Kaduri.net mentioned the Messiah note, insisting it = was=20 authentic. =1FThe Hebrew daily Ma'ariv ran a = story on=20 the note but described it as a forgery.

Jewish readers responded on the websites' forums = with mixed=20 feelings: =E2=80=9CSo this means Rabbi Kaduri was a = Christian?=E2=80=9D and=20 =E2=80=9CThe Christians are dancing and = celebrating,=E2=80=9D were among the=20 comments.=20

Israel Today spoke to two of = Kaduri=E2=80=99s=20 followers in Jerusalem who admitted that the note was=20 authentic, but confusing for his followers as well. = =E2=80=9CWe have=20 no idea how the Rabbi got to this name of the = Messiah,=E2=80=9D one of=20 them said.=20

Yet others completely deny any possibility that the = note is=20 authentic. Kaduri=E2=80=99s son, Rabbi David Kaduri, = said that at the=20 time the note was written (September 2005), his = father=E2=80=99s=20 physical condition made it impossible for him to = write.=20

KADURI'S PORTRAYAL OF THE = MESSIAH=20

A few months before Kaduri died at the age of 108, = he=20 surprised his followers when he told them that he met = the=20 Messiah. Kaduri gave a message in his synagogue on Yom = Kippur,=20 the Day of Atonement, teaching how to recognize the = Messiah.=20 He also mentioned that the Messiah would appear to = Israel=20 after Ariel Sharon=E2=80=99s death. (The former prime = minister is=20 still in a coma after suffering a massive stroke more = than a=20 year ago.)=20

Other rabbis predict the same, including Rabbi Haim = Cohen,=20 kabbalist Nir Ben Artzi and the wife of Rabbi Haim = Kneiveskzy.=20

Kaduri=E2=80=99s grandson, Rabbi Yosef Kaduri, said = his grandfather=20 spoke many times during his last days about the coming = of the=20 Messiah and redemption through the Messiah.=20

His spiritual portrayals of the = Messiah=E2=80=94reminiscent of New=20 Testament accounts=E2=80=94were published on the = websites Kaduri.net=20 and Nfc:=20

=E2=80=9CIt is hard for many good people in society = to understand=20 the person of the Messiah. The leadership and order of = a=20 Messiah of =1Cflesh and blood is hard to accept for = many in the=20 nation. As leader, the Messiah will not hold any = office, but=20 will be among the people and use the media to = communicate. Rabbi Yitzhak Kaduri was known for his photographic = memory=20 and his memorization of the Bible, the Talmud, Rashi = and other=20 Jewish writings. He knew Jewish sages and celebrities = of the=20 last century and rabbis who lived in the Holy Land and = kept=20 the faith alive before the State of Israel was born.=20

Kaduri was not only highly esteemed because of his = age of=20 108. He was charismatic and wise, and chief rabbis = looked up=20 to him as a Tsadik, a righteous man or saint. = He=20 would give advice and blessings to everyone who asked. = =1EThousands visited him to ask for counsel or = healing. His=20 followers speak of many miracles and his students say = that he=20 predicted many disasters.=20

When he died, more than 200,000 people joined the = funeral=20 procession on the streets of Jerusalem to pay their = respects=20 as he was taken to his=1Afinal resting place.=20

THE RABBI'S FOLLOWERS REACT=20

In an interview with Israel Today, = Rabbi=20 David Kaduri, the 80-year-old son of the late Rabbi = Yitzhak=20 Kaduri, denied that his father left a note with the = name=20 Yeshua just before he died.=20

=E2=80=9CIt=E2=80=99s not his writing,=E2=80=9D he = said when we showed him a copy=20 of the note.=20

Israel Today was given access to = many of=20 the rabbi's manuscripts, written in his own hand for = the=20 exclusive use of his students. Most striking were the=20 cross-like symbols painted by Kaduri all over the = pages. In=20 the Jewish tradition, one does not use crosses. In = fact, even=20 the use of a plus sign is discouraged because it might = be=20 mistaken for a cross.=20

But there they were, scribbled in the rabbi's own = hand.=20 When we asked what those symbols meant, Rabbi David = Kaduri=20 said they were =E2=80=9Csigns of the angel." Orthodox Jews around the Nahalat Yitzhak Yeshiva = told=20 Israel Today a few weeks later that = the story=20 about the secret note of Rabbi Kaduri should never = have come=20 out, and that it had damaged the name the revered old = sage.=20
